19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first championship for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a difficult season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with former coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
It is the player's maiden title after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface from March of that year.
Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the top level was over.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an improved service.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional victory, took control to push for a decider.
Moutet saved four early chances in a close final set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, he earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
